DUP Satellite Museum Directory

A satellite museum is the term used where company/companies or camp/camps own a museum, building, log cabin, and/or artifact collections. The mission of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers museums is to collect, preserve, and display artifacts belonging to Utah pioneers who settled the Territory of Deseret and those artifacts which represent the local community.

Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort. The museum is part of the State Historical Parks of Nevada. The DUP artifacts are housed in the adobe building, the only surviving part of the original fort built by the Mormons in 1855. Some artifacts are also displayed in the Visitor Center.

The museum is the old Relief Society building built by the Relief Society and used by them until 1906 when i twas taken over by the DUP. In 1916, it was used as a school. In 1960 the City took it over and the James and Drucilla Hendricks Camp DUP, Cache Far North Company worked hard to get it back to the DUP. The Lincoln Company Daughters of Utah Pioneers Museum is part of a museum complex – Barn Museum, Lander Trail Museum, Call Air Museum, and the Pioneer and Historical Museum. It is housed in the Old Seminary Building which is owned by the Star Valley Historical Society. DIRECTIONS

Open Memorial Day through Labor Day; Friday and Saturday 1 PM – 5 PM.  Over Fair Week in Lincoln County (July 31 – August 4) it is open 10 AM – 7 PM. It is also open on holidays. Other week days will open by appointment, call 307-885-2822
